Exposure (WIP)

visualises a speculative future where beams of reflected sunlight illuminate landscapes worldwide. Inspired by Reflect Orbital’s proposed 'sunlight on demand' system, the project examines how reflected light could erase darkness at any place on Earth. It extends the concerns of Even at Night It’s Never Dark, commenting on humanity’s growing inability to escape artificial light. It critiques the emerging corporate control over who has access to darkness or visibility, and the unsettling possibility that any individual could light any place on Earth through the use of an app.

By constructing scenes where reflective satellites replace starlight, Exposure reflects on the ecological and psychological consequences of a world that can be permanently lit. It considers the violence of revealing what is unseen, questioning what is lost when darkness becomes technologically disrupted in remote parts of the world.
